The Biz Markie's Just A Friend Foundation is proud to announce Fish For All, our new partnership with Americas Gleaned Seafood (AGS). AGS works with New Jersey's commercial fishing industry to provide fresh, high-quality seafood to food to communities in need. This alignment of missions will allow both of our organizations to better serve populations experiencing food insecurity.
Gleaning involves collecting excess fresh foods that would otherwise go to waste and distributing them to those in need. As part of this collaboration, AGS sources donated seafood from New Jersey fishing fleets, rescuing the unused catch or “bycatch” fish that regulations require to be discarded.
Once AGS gleans and prepares these high-quality protein donations, our organization's volunteers will manage drop off locations and distribution to get the nutritious items into the hands of low-income youth and families.
Preventing good food from being wasted while providing vital nutrition to underserved residents aligns perfectly with our mission to offer support and resources to vulnerable children and those facing food deprivation.
